Hi! And welcome to
The Protoman Museum!!!
Dedicated to Rachey

This is the place for all things Protoman Homepage that have come and gone! Below you'll see a list of exhibits. They're in no particular order. The dates by the exhibit titles are that exhibit's "demise date," when it was removed from TPH. The dates that could not be verified by file modification dates or the Records are approximated. Use the <-- Back <-- links to return to this page. Observe and learn, but whatever you do, don't touch the exhibits! You never know what might happen. =^)

  1. The Proto Man Home Page [06/22/96]
This is the first glance at the Protoman Homepage. Note the yellow background...it's the lone cause of the August First delay.
  2. Ads [05/31/97]
It's the infamous Ads section, returned--from your nightmares. I took it away as an experiment--within the week I had gotten over fifty happy emails. Such is the problem with promotion these days.
  3. Netscape Bus Sign [06/15/97]
This represents Speed's very first failure at discovering a Homepage secret. To reach it, you clicked on the Protoman's Revenge icon in the Protoman's FanFic section. This icon did not change its link color like the others. The icon also showed no address at the bottom of Netscape--I hid it using JavaScript. And so a team of ten people, with Speed in the lead, missed it again and again over a whole day's searching. Does Treble have great ideas, or what?
  4. Protoman Chat [06/06/97]
Betcha never expected to see this again! We had a lot of great times together here, before I got onto IRC for real.
  5. The Default Jukebox Song Page [12/02/96]
Before the Internet Jukebox (then the Mega Man Jukebox) grew too big, I could change just one line of code and have the Jukebox play a different default song every week. As usual, I let people vote for it...this is also interesting because it shows the entire selection of music the Jukebox held at that time.
  6. The Ultimate Guide [11/07/96]
It's the Impossible Project...and Mandi did it. Check out what I had written of it--and weep at lost opportunity. Well, maybe. "Everything's some thing!" Keep in mind that you'll get 404s if you try to access anything except the Mega Man 1 portion of the Guide. This is intended--I'm simply showing you everything I had made on this project, whether or not their corresponding files exist(ed).
  7. The Ultimate Password Guide [06/06/97]
Mandi did this as well! Notice how the basic layout is the same as that of the Ultimate Guide--the Password Guide is just a stripped-down version of the U.G. As usual in frames pages, I created unbelievably wacky titles. The Welcome page's title is "Welcome to duh Password Guide!!!"
  8. The Mega Man X5 Contest Page [06/06/97]
Remember when XZero put on this contest? Here's the contest sheet...and please don't mail him asking to contribute, it's long over, people!
  9. LaDy WoLfEtTe and Speed (LWAS) [07/21/97]
On the day before I left for Phoenix I made this. I predicted a boycott of the original interface and a mass exodus to LWAS...and yet, it never happened. Why? The average intelligence of a person. "What's a sprite?"
  10. Houston
Why is this here? It's my cheap drawing of Houston as sent to Skully...oh, by the way, it's not I-60: it's Highway 59.
  11. Jukebox Images [03/08/97] [06/15/97] [08/02/97] [04/23/98]
Five old Jukebox images. The first's date is unknown; it's the first logo the Jukebox ever had. Next is the famous "spotlight" logo which lasted for over two months. The third is Skully's favorite "the best thing you ever did!!!!" one, the fourth is the boring final Mega Man Jukebox logo, and the fifth is the huge overexpansion on the "spotlight" idea. I'm working on finding the Revival (Speed) one, be patient.
  12. Imagemaps
Protocool and Places. Protocool was the Bart's image-adapted version of the original imagemap which took the user to the same documents as the older one. The Blaster document's title is "Blaster!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!" The Places imagemap was redone many times; here you see the final product. No, you can't click on it--where would it take you?
  13. Buttons
The original Protoman Now button, the Speed Now Integration button, and the Protoman Now Special Edition button (never used). If I remember correctly, the Special Edition button was a prototype for the Speed Now Integration button.
  14. The Sarlacc [04/19/97]
Here's a joke that Speed found rather quickly...so did a great many other people. It was located on the last letter of the Metool's Megaman Rockworld link in the Best of the Net, and so it hooked unwary surfers. The images, by the way, are from the Star Wars Special Edition website.
  15. The Protoman's Birthday Homepage [05/20/97]
Speed and Skully made this little parody, which happened to touch my heart. I mean, really! What kind of a fuel would attempt a Birthday Homepage?!?!
  16. Song of the Week and Request pages [06/06/97]
These are the final editions of these famous pages--as they were when I took them down.
  17. Protoman Homepage Trivia [12/24/96]
Speed answered all these questions correctly, and so he won the Integration project whose button appears above. (I gave him hints on two of the questions.)
  18. Place Holder [06/05/97]
This is what people saw on June 6 while I was preparing the new Index grouping system (see below), amoung other things.
  19. About Protoman [02/24/97]
As seen on the Proto Man Home Page, this is one of the very first sections I created. It has never been changed since it was made near the end of July.
  20. The New Index [06/05/97]
I worked on this for ten straight hours...but I needed ten straight days. No, ladies and gentlemen, this system will not efficiently work in HTML. (Try clicking on the little triangle thing, beside the Webhits header.)
  21. The Old Index [03/12/97]
Here is the Index as seen on March 12, 1997. Be sure to read all the Java status bar messages as your mouse passes over the links! (But don't click on the links.)
  22. Ryo-Ohki Main Page [09/19/97]
Skully apologizes to Jetmode with style! Manipulating the Main Page becomes classic in this startling tribute to Ryo-ohki...
  23. The Stupor Sig [09/19/97]
This sig was designed by me to run all during Speed Week! Unfortunately, Speed Week never happened and no one besides me has seen the sig in English...until now. Notice the date--this was my second-to-last day in Phoenix. I spent the first half of it talking to Speed through email (every five minutes!) and creating this stupor object. The second half was watching fireworks.
  24. Animated GIFs [07/18/97] [09/13/97]
Just a few GIFs I threw together for one reason or another.
  25. MM8 Sprites [11/25/96]
These sprites were taken from Mega Man 8 preliminary shots and were transparented for my Rockman 8 Pics page. They appeared on either side of the title.
  26. Speedo-ohki [07/23/97]
    SPEEDO-OHKI!
  27. Song of the Week Demise Form [08/02/96]
This was the form I wrote to have the viewers of my day-old page decide whether or not to keep the Song of the Week. It was never used.
  28. Protoman Homepage II Preview Page [08/02/97]
This Preview page was up the majority of August 1, 1997. Notice the countdown clock.
  29. Protoman Publicity Screen [08/16/96]
This aniGIF appeared on the Main Page for about a week...it was the preliminary Protoman Now button.
  30. The Original Protoman Picture [08/01/96]
I modified a cheap picture of Protoman from the MM7 manual and stuck it up on the Main Page. It stayed for over two months.
  31. Infinite [06/06/97]
This is (was?) my revenge on the breakouts of the Protoman Frameset across the Web. Lest I say...mwa ha ha.
  32. Old Protoman Face [10/31/96]
This logo worked great for the month is was in service! It was in place of the manga-modified pic Mandi made that's there now.
  33. FanFic [03/13/97]
The FanFic page on the day I turned it over to Speed! I still like this interface better than Speed's...maybe I could convince him to use it.
  34. Halloween Page [10/31/97]
A Halloween page that Speed and Skully put togather, which happened to also celebrate the release of Download Central! Keep in mind, only the Records and Main links will work.
  35. FAQs [03/08/98]
FAQs is probably the most notorious section on TPH as far as lack of updates go. I promise the Discussions will work out better...
  36. Protoman's FanFic [03/04/98]
During the March of Updates my FanFic section was completely renovated in accordance with the New Sectional Standard. Here is the old section.
  37. Behind the Scenes [04/18/98]
Behind the Scenes was designed to slow the stream of email coming into my mailbox concerning how I put the site together. It's become so horribly out of date, however, that it's best left here.
  38. Best of Mega Man on the Net [03/07/98]
I attempted to rank the ten best MM sites on the Net and display them here, PNow supporters or not. Needless to say, it didn't work.
  39. Chat [03/04/98]
Here's the #phc section as it appeared long ago...
  40. Buttons
Here are several buttons used in the old Supporters section and other places.
  41. Colors [03/15/98]
Do irrelevant words produce hex colors? Occasionally...
  42. Credits [03/18/98]
An old version of the Credits page.
  43. Guestbook [04/14/98]
The pre-NSS Guestbook, complete with original Speed-ripped signing code.
  44. Houston [03/06/98]
The Houston website, mostly devoted to my science fair project. Not many people knew about it...but now you do.
  45. Impossible [04/12/98]
Probably one of the most confusing things I've ever done, the "Impossible" ICQ main page is something to remember.
  46. Front Door [02/15/98]
TPH's Front Door came about because of a suggestion from a messed up HTML book that demanded that all sites have front doors. Mine didn't work very well, as people ended up bypassing it and not linking to index.html, reducing its effectiveness.
  47. Revival Front Door [03/08/98]
Speed and Jetmode's Revival introduction also served as the Front Door for a time.
  48. Interviews [03/16/98]
The Interviews page before being brought up to the NSS and redone. Note Skully's interviews.
  49. Old Main Page [02/15/98]
The Main Page as it looked just before the Revival began.
  50. Myth [03/19/98]
The infamous 'Myth' page was a descendant of both the About Protoman and Protoman...Evil?? pages.
  51. Year 1 Records [04/12/98]
Year 1's Records before being split by months.
  52. Year 2 Records [03/21/98]
Year 2's Records before being split by months.
  53. Protoman Now! [03/15/98]
The Protoman Now! section before the adoption of the NSS.
  54. Game Reviews [03/17/98]
The Game Reviews section before the adoption of the NSS.
  55. Protoman Now! Supporters [03/15/98]
The Protoman Now! Supporters section before the adoption of the NSS.
  56. The Protoman Homepage Team [02/15/98]
Here's what the TPH Team section looked like before Skully was fired.
  57. Logfile #phc 038Z [05/24/98]
This log of Zero's caused a fiasco when its month of June was found out to be July.
  58. Sabbre's TPH Banner [11/24/98]
Sabbre of MMXAU created this beautiful TPH banner in the early hours of November 24, 1998.
  59. Skully-Supplied Blues Pic [07/02/98]
This picture of Blues, sent to me by Skully, was edited for use in the TPH Front Page Header.
  60. Download Central [02/18/98]
Skully's fully-owned section of TPH lasted about four months. During that time I never visited it at all. =^) After several attempts to salvage it by many Team members it was finally scrapped for good. (Note that the Movies have been removed here due to space constraints.)
  61. NSS Cartoon [05/02/98]
The NSS (New Sectional Standard) Cartoon section, never finished for release.
  62. NSS Chat [06/27/98]
The NSS Chat section as it was before deframing; Chat was the first section to gain NSS and the first section to lose it.
  63. Change TPH [04/30/98]
The Change TPH section enabled surfers to submit new names for TPH and pick between the Green and Blue appearances.
  64. Change TPH Results [08/02/98]
Needless to say, none of the results of the contest were used to redesign the site, due to my liking of Speed Red and the good old TPH acronym.
  65. Rockman Cover Art [03/13/97]
The Rockman Cover Art section long ago, before it was framed.
  66. NSS Info [03/17/98]
The old Info section under NSS, its last guise (the section was eliminated at the Second Anniversary).
  67. The MercuryNet Website [07/03/98]
I redesigned the MercuryNet website in the wee hours of the morning using the Gradient Table layout system. I presented my design to the staff of MercuryNet but it was never used.
  68. MercuryNet Buttons [06/14/98]
These buttons were made for MercuryNet's button linking program. They aren't in use because someone came up with a better one. =^)
  69. The Protoman Homepage Team [02/15/98]
The Team page as it appeared just before the Revival.
  70. No More Special [06/30/98]
This recurring Alpha crash caused me to rebuild the "Special" Chat profile in the Skully Fanclub five times.
  71. The Interactive Story [08/02/98]
Dr. Light's interactive Mega Man story lasted a great while and is still quite entertaining. Toward the end, though, only three people were adding to the story, one of them Light himself.
  72. Animated Sprites [04/05/98]
After aquiring emulators I began to make animated sprites for the Sprites section of TPH. This proved to be too much manual labor, however, and the section idea was abandoned.
  73. Voting [08/02/98]
One of the original TPH sections, Favorite Character Voting later split in half, making a Favorite Boss poll. Dr. Light maintained both sections during his stay in the TPH Team.
  74. Timeline (original design) [09/13/97]
This is how Timeline looked before I messed with the background and added chapter headers, etc.
  75. Logfiles animation [11/11/97]
I was bored, so I made this short animation of scrolling down in the Logs folder.
  76. Jenn-star-v [07/26/98]
This picture shows the series of folders used to store the Mega Man MP3's on my hard drive. Each folder represents an eleven-meg Xoom account.
  77. Logbot Test Logs [09/09/98]
These logs were taken by Logbot before it began to "officially" log, that is, to make the numbered logs in the Chat section.
  78. Discussions [11/25/98]
Okay, so maybe the rehashed FAQs section didn't quite turn out as I intended. It was trashed just as the new front door arrived.
  79. TPH2 Test #1 [06/25/98]
This file was created to show off the new tables navigation system to the Protoman Homepage Team during logfile #phc 006, availible on the Logs page in the Chat section of the SFC, below.
  80. The Internet Jukebox [08/02/98]
The Internet Jukebox, originally the Mega Man Jukebox, accompanied TPH throughout most of its history. This exhibit shows a fully functional Jukebox next to the Main Page as it appeared after its final update.
  81. Protoman Now! [11/25/98]
Unannounced, Protoman Now! died with Discussions. It was TPH's button linking program for over two years.
  82. Jetmode's Revenge [04/25/98]
Jetmode is a happy catdogz. ^_^
  83. The Mega Man X2 Zero Level Equalizing Project [07/31/98]
Zero's resurrection theme from Mega Man X2 is impossible to record perfectly. A fadeout occurs when the game is paused to avoid the fight / destruction of the fake Zero at the very start of his song. To cancel out this fadeout I employed manual "level equalizing," or making two copies of the sound--one fading in and one fading out. The fading in is stronger than the fading out so the volume is boosted more and more toward the end of the fadeout, canceling it out. (Just nod and smile, and proceed to the next exhibit.)
  84. Ready --> Rachey [09/10/98]
This image was created by manipulating Rockman's RandF "READY" sign which appears when you begin playing.
  85. Toilet Flush Ice Man [08/29/98]
A severe memory shortage caused this bizarre "toilet flush" effect when I was recording Ice Man from MMI.
  86. The Index [08/02/98]
The Index as it was moments before the Second Anniversary and the SFC debut.
  87. The New TPH Floor Plan [07/26/98]
This image was created to educate the Team about the layout of TPH after the Second Anniversary. Note that of the accounts pictured only Dragonfire is still in use.
  88. Server Messages [06/25/98]
These files were created for my computer to use as it faithfully served the protoman.com domain well into the next century. Unfortunately, my computer never got to become a server.
  89. TPH: Flashing Slow and Fast [06/01/98]
Animated GIFs made by a very tired Protoman.
  90. TPH As It Was [08/02/98]
TPH in its full green NSS glory just before the SFC and the Second Anniversary.
  91. Noframes [11/24/98]
Skully ripped off the Smashing Pumpkins website and created this Noframes version of TPH, which would later, after tons of editing, become the TPH Front Page.
  92. Redesign [10/18/98]
Everyone's favorite fuel also presented this idea for a redesign much earlier. Keep your eyes peeled, folks, this one's not dead yet...
  93. Skully Backgrounds [06/27/98]
Skully created a number of hideous backgrounds for the SFC, none of which were used. They're still good for a wholesome headache, though.
  94. Original Skully Face [06/27/98]
This was the original image used in the face frame of the SFC.
  95. The Skully Fanclub [08/03/98]
The Skully Fanclub was nothing more than an elaborate joke devised to buy me time to complete TPH2, but it was a whopper! Skully "took over" #phc as well causing an Internet uproar. Few people know that the Skully Fanclub was actually planned and built a month in advance by Skully himself, Sting Chameleon, and me.
  96. FooBar's Byebye TPH! [06/26/99]
TPH's Dragonfire account expired on May 30th, 1999, and I was under the impression that TPH would cease to exist on that day. Without TPH Server prepared to take on the load, the only option was to say goodbye for a while. FooBar, during a conversation with his own demented mind on his free time, came up with this perfectly fuelish way to do it and, proposing the idea to us over dinner at Rachey's, was accepted!
  97. ALL HAIL BRAK! [03/01/98]
The Brak page was a convenient way to practice HTML skills before I formally "returned" to my job as TPH maintainer in March of 1998. Never-before-seen by anyone outside my house, this is a real Museum exhibit.
  98. Paradiddle Productions [11/19/96]
Committing a deadly sin (trying to make money), I created the Paradiddle Productions webpage along with plans to found Paradiddle as a web development company. The idea never got off the ground, though, due to one of my other virtues: laziness.
  99. Paradiddle Email Sig [11/19/96]
Here's the email signiture that went along with the Paradiddle idea.
  100. Stem Lists [05/10/98]
Jenn desperately needed these stem lists for the quiz on the next day, so I came to the rescue with my dad's new scanner...awwww. ;^)
  101. Music Address Maelstrom [12/28/98]
For the first time ever, all of the Geocities and Xoom accounts I used to temporarily hold the Mega Man Music Archive are presented here! Now you can fully understand what the term jenn-star-v means (Jenn plus a verb).
  102. MercuryNet Channel Listing: Rachey's Birthday [12/24/98]
Soliciting every listed channel on MercuryNet, I succeeded in making them change their topics to Rachey's happy birthday! All of them except one, that is.
  103. #phc Events [01/18/99]
The Chat Events section was a failed enterprise from the start; this is how it looked when I removed it.
  104. #phc's Top Ten Topics [01/18/99]
Here's the Topics section that went with it.
  105. #phc People [01/18/99]
The underrated People section also disappeared with Events and Topics.
  106. Evil Jet 'n Skully: Full Size [06/18/99]
Before I realized that the new Team section would require very small images, I transparented Jetmode taking off Skully's head at full size.
  107. FooBar's Team "Party" Shot [07/14/99]
FooBar dug up this guy to serve for his picture prior to the Raichu/Fierce Melon combo.
  108. Patriot's Section [08/08/98]
Patriot's most apparent work for TPH was a mega-hit. Too bad it was never updated...
  109. Patriot's Games: Coming Soon [11/27/98]
Patriot stuck this "coming soon" page up as a placeholder for a future release.
  110. The TPH Trivia Quiz [06/26/99]
Patriot's TPH Trivia Quiz was reportedly a big hit...the first few times people played it.
  111. Patriot Takes the Quiz [11/27/98]
Before turning it into a Shockwave-enhanced quiz game, Patriot himself took the quiz and scored rather poorly.
  112. Transferring MP3s Placeholder [01/03/99]
People saw this page when they went to TPH over New Years (and surrounding days) in 1999.
  113. /HiJet [06/26/99]
Jetmode served as the first tester for the new TPH look released on June 26, 1999, and here's what she saw.
  114. /HiRach [06/26/99]
Rachey didn't like the backgrounds clashing and so recommended a few (hah) other backgrounds and colorsets.
  115. /HiCop [06/26/99]
Copper (Silver) got to be one of the final beta-testers of the new look.

Well, that's just about it. Thank you for visiting the Protoman Museum, come again...
