What seems to have risen out of Mega Man 5's plotline has now become the obsession of the world: Protoman is evil.
But he's not; I have plenty of proof of that. The only place he again and again determined to be evil is the Mega Man Cartoon.
If you want to do me a favor, tell all your friends that Protoman is not
evil and all that you see in the Cartoons is rubbish. Protoman is more of a
freelance individual. He comes and goes as he pleases; he fights for
anyone he wishes to fight for. This is mostly the Good side, but he if
feels it is necessary, he will sometimes defend Dr. Wily and his schemes.
This is mostly to prevent wars and suffering for people who do not deserve
it.
In my FanFic stories, including Protoman's Revenge, Protoman takes on this neutral status. I show this through direct treason towards Dr. Light, which later turns out to be a great help towards both sides--keeping the balance stable.
Mandi Paugh has taken it upon herself to divide the Protoman pieces of us know into personalities. Break Man, an alias used by Protoman in Mega Man 3, is her name for the good half. He always helps Mega Man and never hints at treason. Protoman is her name for the character in the Cartoons. He is always on Wily's side and is Mega Man's major rival. Blues appears to be the Japanese name for Protoman before Dr. Light completed his modifications, including a more powerful welding cannon and new colorful armor. Mandi describes this character much as I describe mine; he comes and goes as pleases and is governed by himself only.
In Protoman's Revenge, Protoman saves the world from Wily's new technology as if it were second nature to him. Call it what you will, but I do not believe that is my poor writing skills at work. This is himself fighting against an evil that could destroy the world--and he does not want this. He is not evil. But he will also defend Wily from any threat that comes his way, because Protoman is that which keeps the balance between good and evil.
