You know Jehuty, there is a dosbox (dos emulator) for Mac. Maybe give it a shot! Descent is great!

believe it or not, i made the rockman complete works 4-6 stuff on the site on my mac using dosbox. (except for the ripping part ... of course it couldn't do that, since it has to talk directly to the hardware, and an emulator knows no hardware).
