hi. :)

yeah, i should really finish recording the game boy stuff sometime. actually, i would go ahead and re-record mmi and ii if i were going to do that, because they need to be redone (to have two repeats and a fadeout, new mp3 encoding, etc). will see what i can do while all the new stuff i bought in japan is encoding/uploading.

as far as rockman and forte goes, i tried a long time ago (probably 1998) to record the music from the snes version, but there is no sound test and the music very often gets mangled by sound effects occurring in the game. since tph doesn't offer anything except original music recorded from the original games, it doesn't make any sense to put up .spcs or .spcs converted to mp3s or something. i don't actually own the gba version of rockman and forte, so that might make it a little hard to record the music from it. however, you could always buy it for me, and then i promise i would do it. :)

I liked the boss theme from Mega Man and Bass. Would love to see it put up some time.

yeah, m.midget is looking at that game right now. iirc, there may be a sound test in it, and if there is, there's no reason for me not to buy it and record the music (other than not having any money, anyway :P) btw, i need to talk to you later, b.gash.

I enjoyed a lot of the music from the Zero series, however, it's not very easy to come across any mp3 files of the music. If anything, I would love to see the day that the Megaman Zero 2 songs are available.

By the way, Megaman and Bass did not have a sound test.

I remember my friend had a way of turning sound effects off from SNES games with a switchblade by pricking one or two of the little metal parts in the cartridge that stick out. I would assume that would help a little...

Nah. That guy's gone. He's halfway across the country and has no internet. And he had to examine the cartridge for a few weeks and learn it's parts. Once he did do that,  he couldn't fix it, and I'm sure RM&F cartridges are hard to come by. He only did it to games that were crappy and didn't paly anymore. (Vortex... *shudders*)

That trick would make your job considerably easier, wouldn't it, Protoman? I think he was learning to do it to GBA cartridges when he moved....

an undoable modification (i.e. a tiny piece of silly putty over the contact in question, for example) would render this information useful to me. i wonder if i could possibly learn anything by reading about snes cartridge pinouts in faqs ...

i personally think music would of been a lot better if they allowed Bruce Faulconer to remix the music for megaman x annerviersy colletion if you ever seen the shows that faulconer did

Yeah, he ruined the beautiful music for Dragonball Z is what he did.  Although his songs are OK, they can't replace the originals at all.
