Line in from GB?
« on: May 24, 2005, 01:33:57 am »
I don't know if you have the proper equipment to do this, but if at all possible, could someone do a line-in of Wario Ware for me? You would be forever in my debt, and get 10,000 points. Please? Pretty please?
Soon to be a major motion picture!

Game Boy is VERY easy (and the only thing I can currently record line-in as of now), all you need is one of those little cords that goes into your speaker to the computer (hopefully your computer has it), then just take it, plug one end into the GB Headphone jack, then plug the other into your line-in port, then set your mic settings to record from line-in and well...record, heh.

But I thought that the GB headphone port was proprietary.. because whenever I use "normal" headphones, I get a whole bunch of fuzz.

And you should plug the cable into the line-in port, not the mic port...

Weird.  I don't notice any fuzziness on mine.

I've tried it on a GameBoy Pocket and GameBoy Color.

I'm recording off of my Gameboy Color.  Here's the Line-in recording.  And here's the emulator recording.  Not much of a difference, but it seems like the Emulator recording seemed loud and fuzzy most of the time.  Never noticed how much of a difference it makes until I actually compared it.  Oh and by the way, I do hook it up to my Line-in port, not the mic port.  I just meant to say I set up the recording settings to record from the line-in.

in my experience, gb pocket < gb color < gba/gbasp < gb player

so you can guess what all the gb music on the site is recorded with. ;P

How can you do a line-in recording with a GBA SP? It doesn't have a headphone port.

But they do have adaptors. Also, he's just talking about the sound from it. Kriby rules.
But I don't have any wire that'll allow me headphones to line in, for my speakers are USB. I also don't have Wario Ware.

If I had a nomad, I'd do a bunch of Genesis games like Phantasy Star 4, Contra Hardcorps, Dynamite Headdy, etc. Those games would make excellent additions to the site.
