Real or emu?

Just a quick question: the soundtracks which Protoman generously share on his page, they are the real thing, aren't they?

I wouldn't want to download an emulator rip...

No emulator rips here. They're either line-in recordings or taken directly from the game CD/DVD.

Everything here is either a line-in recording, a direct extraction, or a CDDA rip.

That's wonderful! There are too many unserious music sites out there, so you never know.
In time, I'll see if I can contribute the Gamegear Megaman soundtrack, then.

It's not JUST line in recordings. They're GOOD line in recordings.
If you try to line-in a Genesis game, all you hear is the background noises and stuff. If Protoman did JUST that, it'd sound like crap. He, however, did an awful lot of de-noising AND he recorded it on a Nomad. He knows his stuff.

(because he doesn't own many old games.)

However, my Tetris 2 line-in recording is almost done :)
