Poor Saturday Mornings...

I just got finished watching 2 hours of Saturday morning T.V from 1985. I compare it to today, and WOW. Cartoonist, and marketers has really dropped the ball in the last decade. Where did we go wrong? Saturday Supercade was brilliant! I even thought the commercial breaks with the Public Service Announcements were good! There's no point to this rant, but to cry about cartoons, and where the Hell Saturday mornings are going to end up. I hate to know even with KidsWB losing their weekly programming. I'll stick with 4Kids for now.

Ehh, I remember watching Saturday Morning Cartoons, but not from the eighties. I remember good things like DuckTails and Recess. This was before I had cable, and this was the only time I could watch it, mind you. Man... I miss that.

Oh man.... Crystalman, you are only too right. Saturday morning cartoons are now crap. Utter crap.

And I have satelite TV.

Granted, Canadian satelite, but still.... With 900+ channels, you would hope at least one of them has good cartoons on saturdays!

Nope. Justice League is about the best I can get, they even took down the moderatly-good X-Men..... um, that newer one, when they're all younger teens and not adults. That one was good, Wolverine was stilll badass, Cyclops was still a half-twit, Jean was still <3, Magneto was good, professor X was also superb.....

It's no original X-Men cartoon, but as far as other new upgrades of old classics [*coughcoughnewbatmancartoonscough*] it's pretty good. [*coughcoughbatmantheanimatedseriesownsyoursoulcough*]

And don't get me started on the new Transformers..... Ugh, they totally ruined Transformers to satisfy this whole generation of Waps. [I think that's the term...] The original was just far too badass to ever have a proper sequel series. [well, Optimus was good in Cybertron.... but DAMN Ironhide was JUST FARKIN' RUINED.]

Recess was a grand old series of cartoons... And they're not even that old, in comparison to other ones.

Ah, those old days can never be returned.... I even saw a new episode of GI Joe - Sigma Six. Damn, it just......... sucks...... compared to the original. Cobra Commander is just..... bleh. Duke himself is just.......... far too cocky and very over-strengthed. It's just blah. At least they had Snake Eyes..... I forget now, though.

Todays generation of cartoons just isn't that great....

I remember the way saturdays used to be. I would wake up at five in the morning, and rush to the tv, and spend the next few hours in cartoony bliss. I would never miss an episode of the classic TMNT. Now, the only thing left are memories, and a faulty videotape.

That and the NES game is kickass.

thank you for mentioning megas, because everyone knows that chicks dig giant robots, but yeah other than that this generation does suck for toons.  and also the 1960's batman was by far the best
