Megaman Zero?
« on: March 28, 2005, 10:32:02 am »
I was acually wondering if you have had any intentions of recording the music from the Megaman Zero games. many of the songs I liked. Like the intro stage music to MMZ2 (Though I prefer the credits version better).

I loooove roms!

Of course the music isnt as good, but i think roms are a good way to play a game thet you dont have. I have all of the Megaman roms, and if it werent for them i wouldnt know all of the songs by heart. Sure, it's illegal to have them, but using a rom to test a great game could help you decide whether to buy it or not.

This site is not about emulation.  If you want that, go to www.caitsith2.com.

This site is about line-in recordings, XA rips, CD rips.. music from the original source.

Thats not really what I meant. >>

What I was asking was if he approved of using ROM's to get the music from instead of the acuall games.

Does emulation fit into line-in recordings, XA rips, CD rips, or "original source"?

(in other words, emulation to record the music is a NONO)

I know all about emulation.  You asked about using emulation for the music.  It doesn't happen at this site.

lol, sorry for being overly harsh.  it's just.. line-in recording is so much harder than lazy emulation wave-outs.  you'll understand if u undertake it...

What is your oppinion about roms?

i think the bad probably outweighs the good, but it's definitely not a one-sided argument. so much good has come out of emulation in terms of testing and discoveries that you really can't discount them as 'just some illegal tripe' anymore. of course, the bad would be people thinking they're substitutes for the original games. i think of them as more like an interesting new way to look at the games, offering a lot of potential, rather than as copies of the original games.
