So how the hell do you have more fun on a Nintendo system than you do on a system you've never even played?

Let me put it this way.

A fan is like sex cream, and a fanboy/girl is a like a genital wart.

Now, Nintendo faboys can be the worst, however, in the case of me and CJ, we just tell the facts like they are. Nintendo is better because it's more fun. Because it's games are something different, unlike Playstation and Xbox.

Then you're not a fanboy.

Fanboys never state facts, they never reason, they just talk about propaganda and opinionated bullshit.

I guess that means me an' CJ aren't fanboys either...

As to why DreamCast bombed... it's because of Peter Moore.  Seeing as how he's bashing and insulting everything about Japan, I don't see why Microsoft even cares about making ground in Japan with the 360....

In my experience from the NGG board on GameFAQs, there are only four types of fanboys:  pro-Sony, anti-Sony, pro-Microsoft, and anti-Microsoft.  All four of them tend to like Nintendo products at some point at least, with the anti-Sony fanboys being the most likely people to favor Nintendo...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the original Xbox not do so well in Japan also?  I don't entirely remember offhand...

Anyways, its hard to pin the downfall of something on any one cause.
It is more common now for games to be multiple systems. No matter what company takes the top for now, What should concern us now isn't what company is the top seller of systems, but rather, what they plan to do with what they have, and what  and how other factors (in U.S.)   developer's crap (that is to say EA) are going to influence the next generation of gamers.

As for me, I'm content with my genesis and my computer.

It's obvious Peter Moore wasn't the only reason DreamCast tanked.  And yes, DreamCast did run some form of Windows.  And for everyone's information, Xbox original did MUCH better than Xbox 360 in Japan in the same time period.  In the first three days after launch, I believe Xbox sold over 2x more consoles than 360 did in its first three days after launch.

Yeah, but XBox came out when Japan was still getting used to DVD players, that's probably the only contributing factor to making it sell more.

But if that was the only thing that seperated it from other counsels, what was stopping people from buying a backwards compatible system from a trusted company that could play dvd's to boot?(ps2?)

I think it has to do with where people's loyalties lied before the launches took place. I think that sega turned a lot of their supporters off in the time between the Dreamcast and the Saturn and Cd.

The games available and in development at launch also played a part in sales.
