Post by: Lazlo Falconi on September 29, 2005, 05:40:14 pm: Billy is different in that it is 2 to 8 times faster than Winamp. For example, in Billy performance tests opening 4000 tagged MP3s takes about 4 seconds to load up. In Winamp, which is considered fast, this same task takes over one minute. Billy also uses half the memory as Winamp, and has 28% less CPU load in its decoding engine. It is freeware, works on any version of Windows from 95 up and is small enough to fit onto a floppy disk.

It may look cheap and crappy, but does that really matter when all it does is sit in your systray and play music? Not to me. I've been using this for a while, and I like it. It's not skinnible, but that's its charm. It's just faster. I heartily reccomend it!

I may use that on the Pentium 90, though..... If there's a DOS version.... I doubt it though. Hell, I'll use QCD for any mp3 playing in DOS....

I use enough Linux aps as it is anyway, so why not just make the full leap? GIMP, Gaim (Even though I can't use that anymore :( ), I'll have to find a linux browser... but oh well.
