I'm not gonna buy the Super NES version unless it seriously goes down in price a lot. So, I've been thinking about buying the Japanese/European version for the PSX. Mostly cause it's cheaper and has a MUCH better soundtrack (You all know how much I hate the Super NES version's soundtrack, heh.) I would get it for Saturn, but my PSX is already modded. Thing is, I know it exits....but is it rarer than the Saturn version? I can't find it ANYWHERE. Also, would the European version be screwed up by running on 50fps instead of the NTSC 60fps? That's what I've noticed with emulators, but I'm not sure if that applies to modded NTSC systems.
Oh, and I DO know about X Collection, I just thought it would be cool to own the actual PSX version. I'm not even sure if it'll have the PSX soundtrack, too.

It's 99.999999999999999% confirmed that Mega Man X3 in Mega Man X Collection will have the PlayStation soundtrack. Capcom says that the music in the games will be remixed, which means X3-X6 will be PlayStation music and X1 and X2 will be resynthesized. We might even get the original music in for X1-X3 if we're lucky.....
And check eBay. I saw the PAL PlayStation Mega Man X3 sell for $15 including shipping.

Hmm, X1 and X2 resynthed? Makes me glad I own the original carts, heh. And I've been checking eBay too....can't find it at all (For a good price). Hell, I even checked eBay.co.uk for it :P

I hope Capcom listened to my E-mail regarding the Megaman X collection.
-
What was it about?
-
Adding a toggle or something for the remixed music. So, I could still listen to how the original music sounded.
-
What's wrong with the X3 soundtrack? o_0?
Couldn't help ya, SY. I'd like to help, but there's nothing I can do.
-
Nothing was wrong with the X3 soundtrack. I'm just saying, I want an option to toggle remixed music on and off. That's all.

Super NES is the one I hate. PSX is the one I love.
Why do I hate the Super NES one? Mostly because almost EVERY SINGLE song used the EXACT SAME INSTRUMENTS! Electric guitar and drums....electric guitar and drums...it gets old, and fast! Any song that doesn't use those instruments are REALLY fucking horrible for some reason (Take Blizzard Buffalo, Dr. Light's theme and the Ending for example. The Intro stage, however is allright). It's a HUGE letdown from the awesomeness that was X1 and X2's amazing soundtracks. It's kinda funny that the man who composed this soundtrack also composed the perfect music of X4.
Here are the only good Super NES X3 songs in my opinion.
Zero's Theme
Sigma
Vile's Stage

THE INTROSTAGE!!! You forgot the introstage! One of my favorite songs in the whole game!

Like I said, it's allright, but I just didn't get that "Wow, this is a pretty damn good song." feeling.
-
But it sure was catchy.
-
I really hope they don't remix everything and make it impossible to hear how the old game sounded, because I loved the original stuff and I haven;t been able to hear it since my SNES took a shit and died. ='(
(well.... besides HERE of corse!)

Ever hear of roms before? You been living under a rock or something?

yeah, because when I was banned from my village 5000 years ago, they mummifed me and hid me under a plateu. D=

I dislike ROMs and Emulators.......... for my own reasons. *vanishes*
-
Because you can't get zSNES on a Mac?

NOPES
-
No. Aren't they illegal?
-
Well of course they are. Nobody cares, though. The only problem I have with roms and emus is people who say they own the games when they only downloaded the rom. That pisses me off...a lot, cause everything on my game collection page are the games I actually own and nothing else.
Honestly, I use roms as a method of trying the game before I buy it to see if it's good enough or not. After all, I would have never been able to play Gunstar Heroes if it weren't for roms. I'm still trying to buy it to this day.
-
Roms give me indigestion.
-
Ebay.
ANd I definitely don't say I own a ROM.

Saying you own a rom is like copyright infringment time infinaty.
-
But if I didn't own a ROM, then what use would this CD drive serve?!
-
Cupholder. That's what I use 'em for.
-
That's about all teh good my upper CD drive is for. I have to use my burner drive for everything.
Hmm....
*gets can of rootbeer*

Japenese version? I hope you can read japenese. :P
-
It's a Mega Man game, you don't need to read.
-
They do speak in that game, and tell you what to do. How would you know, then? :P
-
Like Lazlo said, it's a Mega Man game. You don't really ever need to know the story. Plus, I've already beaten it, thanks to the magic of roms, so I already know what's going on.

You move to the right and blow shit up. It's a forking platformer! It ain't that deep.
-
Ever played part 6. It's so you can understand the plot but I get your point.

Er...wha?
-
part 6 of what? Megaman X6?
-
The Mega Man X series doesn't have a plot, contrary to popular belief.
"...100 years have passed since [last game].."
Okay, 21XX plus 100 equals 22XX. But no. It's always year 21XX. So that immediately blows all "plot" claimers out of the water. ;)
-
What about Gate stealing Zero's data? That's part of the X6 plot.
-
.ARJ! Megakevin, DON'T SPOIL IT!!!1!11!!
XD
-
Who says the Mega Man series' years are in base 10?
-
Who says the Mega Man series' years are in base 10?
I do. It's still Earth, after all. Why would they change?
-
Why would they change the year to xxXX?
-
Why would they change the year to xxXX?
Typo?
-
They should just change it to Twenty ecks ecksty-ecks
-
I always thought the XX's were pretty much saying "We don't want you to know the actual year this is happening in"
-
No, 20XX is four years after 2099.
-
I'd Strongly suggest picking up the SNES version of Megaman X3 because I have the SNES and PSX versions and despite the fact that the video intros are cool, the games controls are horrible (you have to REALLY press X (button) hard to jump). Don't know about Saturn though.

Um, the PSX didn't have pressure sensitive controls. That's your controller there, buddy.
-
I thought the same thing, but i've tried other controllers and other games and it seems to only be with MMX3. It might just be my bad luck though, heh.
-
Heh, you're lucky just by the fact that you HAVE the PSX version. Man, I would kill if I could find a link to an ISO or something. It;s literally impossible to find on Ebay >_>
