I think we should all head down to the Bahama's in October. For those of you who don't know, the Bahama's are great fun. Well... not so much the islands, but the boat is. Along with all that free food. I was going on holiday in October anyway, so I though it might be fun if we all just planned to go on a cruise. We could call it TPHcon 2005, and make tee shirts. Then people could ask us, "What do those shirts mean?" and we could say, "DIEDIEDIE JUSDIE ZEEELLLOOO!!!"
All in favor?
Aye.
-
Aye. It sounds like great fun, if we could go.
-
Hey, it could happen. MICK WOOOORRRLD!
-
Aye. I'll go...if you're willing to give me the ton of money that would require XD
Give me a chance to start my rockstar career and I'll buy you all houses there :P
-
Eeh, I don't want houses in the bahama's, I just want to go on the cruise :P
-
Who's Bahama?
-
You leave my apostophies alone!
-
BOATS??? No chance, not even if I had money! Airplanes are fine but NO BOATS!! Dying by drowning must be really desparating, at least by airplane you die on the fall if things go wrong O.o
But truly money is also an issue... but if its to meet, better on mountains on forests, the sea gets me depressed...
-
Mountains and forests are cool, but cruises have free food.
But I wonder why the sea makes you depressed? I actually love being out there, I wish I had my own boat...
-
the food really isnt free, youve just already payed for it
i was on a cruise in the Bahamas and Alaska, iand i got to visit Canada too
-
Well if I went on a submarine (where also the death risk is meant at instant KO due to preasure breakout :P) I could see things bellow the water, that could be fine... but just looking at vast and open sea and sky gives me an empty unsafe sensation... I prefer places with structures higher than me most of the time O.O
-
I actually thought it was cool, one night I went out on deck, and since it was cloudy, it seemed like the boat was the only thing in the world. It was awesome. Now, if it feels like I'm the only thing in the world, then I get the empty feeling that you're talkinga bout.
-
Thats my point... I always feel like that in beaches, so I avoid ithen as much as possible O.O But a sub would be neat XD
-
Indeed it would.
-
The Bahamas this October? Man, I don't gots that kinda money. But it would be...well...an interesting concept. This is how I imagine it would be.
Person1:"Hey your that one guy."
Person2:"yeah"
....
Person1:"Soooooooo, read any good books lately?"
Person2:"I don't read books."
Person1:"Oh, thats too bad."
....
Person3:"Hey look. Shuffle board and a buffet."
Persons1 and 2:"Yeah"
....
Me:"THE AWKWARD SILENCE IS KILLING ME SLOWLY! GAHHHHH!!!"
-
I have school in OCTOBER.
;_;
-
Yeha, me too. Otherwise, if I had the money, count on me being there to prevent you from going to the buffet, Lazlo. It would sound like such fun. Being out in the open sea, the wind in my hair, watching Swift scramble to stay above water after 'falling' overboard... Maybe Trigger too... That sounds wonderful.
-
there would be no awkward silence from the TPH krew.
-
Of course not, since that sort of thing seems to happen hourly here.
-
Oh yeah? Well...
"WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?!"
-
Doesn't work the same on here, Lazlo. I need the picture too.
-
*I'm filling your head with images of me naked saying "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR!?"*
-
Oh, the horror, Kary... Tough it out! It's just Lazlo!
-
*Dances naked over Lacus* "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOOOR???"
-
It doesn't affect me as much as it does Kary.
-
Ooh, Lacus like my dangly parts!
-
I never said I liked it.
-
I knew you'd say that.
-
Come on, you know there would be several hours of people who supposedly "know" each other, but still having to re-break the ice, this time in reality. Face it, that's what would end up happening.
*throws a censor bar at Lazlo*
Come on man, cover your shame.
-
But I wonder why the sea makes you depressed? I actually love being out there, I wish I had my own boat...
If you get the chance, do so. The Hinkley "Venture" is a relatively cheap and small sailing boat, simple to sail, plenty of cabin room for friends. Any modern ChrisKraft would do for outboard motor boats, if you don't mind keeping it in shape. Small price to ride in affordable style and quality.
but just looking at vast and open sea and sky gives me an empty unsafe sensation... I prefer places with structures higher than me most of the time O.O
Also known as agoraphobia. Work on it. You're missing out.

It's quite possible that would happen, but... isn't that part of meeting new people? Actually, this is much better, because you know a little bit about all of the people involved, and probably think many of them are interesting people, so you have something to go on. Carpe diem. My work doesn't allow me to interact with people much, but when I do, especially when I know them to be good people and potential friends, a little patience in the process seems more than a little affordable to me. Estne?

-
Yeah I guess. I just have a fear of meeting people I know, then not having anything to talk about. I dread awkward silences.
-
I understand that fear, and used to have it myself. I think the only thing that got me over it was a new attitude about life in general. I won't try to give you advice, for fear of coming off as presumptuous, but you're missing out. Fight the fear, this one isn't lethal. ::winks::
Zaijian,

-
I'm a social guy, and I tend to make friends pretty easily, but I just can't stand it when I have nothing to talk about with my friends. I know what your saying, and I'm glad you are such a sound voice in a sea of nonsense and goofyness. Thanks for the "advice" that you claimed not to give me. I'll take that to heart and smile more often.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/skull_manx/smile.gif)
-
Yeah, that silence when you run out of things to say is weird, however, I've found that it's always broken by saying/doing something stupid or funny.
Or, when all else fails (When meeting new people or those from TPH) just yell out, "DIEDIEDIE JUSDIE ZEEELLLOOOOO!!!"
-
Ah, right you are Skull. I did indeed give you advice, but the advice I claimed not to give was in book form. ::rummages around in the "Life and Philosophy" section of the shop and pulls out a copy of Tiger's Chicken Soup for the MechWarrior's Soul:: As you can see... oh wait. ::puts it back and then produces The Winning Smile: Attitudes on Social Behavior, by Tiger:: There we are. Only $2.00 ($4.00 Canadian) off the shelf! ::does signature thumbs up and broad smile *ping*::
Oh, and as Lazlo says, commanding people to die in a mentally dysfunctional mode of speech always always makes friends.
Zaijian,
Tiger
-
Your exchane rate is wrong, 2.00US is like 42.00 Canadian.
-
Well Ive met ppl I came to know by the internet several times before and I say: No silence with me around! I talk a lot and loud as hell!! XDSpecially if its funny stuff, games, movies, anime, rpg or as some guessed, my dear Bu =^.^=
-
School? SCHOOL?!?! Nonsense! If you really had the chance to travel somewhere like that, PLEASE don't tell me you're gonna miss out on it just cause of school XD
Different people prefer different places ;) The sea doesn't appeal to me personally cause it's always been such a big tourist attraction wherever it is, which means a ton of people, most nature spoilt in some way or another by people, and I just _don't_ like it full stop, never have, and never will. DIE, SEASIDE, DIE. A panful, salmony death.
Anyways, give me a cave in some deep forest with the wolves faaaar, faaaaaaaaaaaar away from people any day...but make sure there's a Mc Donald's nearby. I do need to eat XD
-
But it's funnier to see innocent bystanders giving you a shocked look of "WTF?"
-
Well I support my sweet Bu fully here, just that mcdonalds never feels me up enough, so better have a Chinese food restaurant next XD Chinese food is good and it can feed me properly =^.^=
-
Burger King is better.
-
mcdonalds never feels me up enough
ROFL! That's the best mis-spelling I've ever seen! XD
...though very, VERY worrying...x.x
I think you should go talk to sexual harassment panda dear o.0 Then you can sue them for a ton of money and move to live with each other! YAY! :D
We're utter geniuses sometimes 8)
-
I'm glad to here that I'm not the only one McDonalds doesn't feel.
-
Nah still think the site idea was better, Id make maney to vist you from the morons, I mean, from the good ppl donating to us, and with the excedent 1 billion dollars buy a Chinese food restaurant JUST to feed me up XD
-
i'd love to meet y'all someday.
-
yea that would be great, but truth is, theres too much distance between all of us
-
I agree, it would be great to have a big old meeting with everyone from the forums, but like you said Herb, the distances between us all kill that idea...unless we all get miraculously rich somehow. Ideas anyone? :P
-
Well, Herb and I only live about three hours from each other, so maybe we'll just have a party and not invite you :P
But then again, Protoman only about twice the distance the other way, so maybe we could have a party at my hosue. Well, since we're having three people here already, why not just all of them?
-
I still like the idea of the TPH campout. It sounds like the best place to be (trigger can run around in the forest, like the sasquatch he is, I have plenty of running space from Kary, we can make FIRES [DING!] plenty of places for people like me and Morr and Bu and Clest to go and..... 'mysteriously disappear', you know. *wink*, and we can make all the noise we want and we'll only disturb bears and animals.)
But, some people may not like camping. Hell, we'll Bring Richman and his wireless internet too. And Phex's freaking huge 64" TV, and Lazlo's gamecube, and all my computers for starcraft and Descent LAN parties, ah man, that would be great. SSBM, Descent, Starcraft, oh man. That'd be so freaking great.
-
also, remember the number one rule about camping
1. Camping isn't camping without Tetris
-
I was too lazy to read all of this.
But I can garentee you all one thing.
The first time you meet me, I will
Be wearing a loin cloth
Screaming "DIEDIEDIE JUSDIE ZEEEELLLLLLOOOOOO!!!"
Swing in on a magical tree vine
Stab Swift with a spork as much as possible
Spank Kary
Dance around while waving glow sticks
Spend the next 3 hours with Jody
Come back and eat some pizza rolls
Lazy for the rest of the time.
And trust me, if there is ONE thing that I can do right, it's keep things uinteresting....hopefully...
-
if a person is bored, talk to Trigger. BOREDOM GONE! And I think with all that's planned for the TPH campout, I'm sure you'll be living up your said abilities at SSBM
-
Camping is good. As is SSBM and Tetris. . . but i suck at tetris pretty badly.
-
Hey, me too Peaches. But woe betide the person that challenges me to Descent.
-
I SIR, CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL!!! *smacks Swift across the face with a guantlet*
Also, my SSBM Skillz > All. You will see that one day.
-
yeah, You'd own me at SSBM. (because I'e never played the Melee variant)
-
Even my old SSB skillz are still in good shape. Brought out the old 64 a little while ago and practiced. xD
-
I'm mildly good at Tetris, SSBM, and Starcraft. Starcraft I haven't played much though, so I don't know that I wouldn't pwn you, but I'm usually only decent at those type o fgames. While I almost never beat everybody, I almost always beat somebody. (Except with my friend and family that I've met in real life, those guys all suck at video games)
-
Most RPGs dont have versus mode, and I such at nom-rpg stuff XD
So the only challenge I can offer is the arena fight in Xenogears XD
No one beats me with Bladegash, EG Armor or El Fenrir >D Could add Xenogears, but that is too ubber :P
But also there are Mana games, I am replaying Secret of Mana with a friend, very nice, anyone up to a journey? XD
-
I've never actually played Secret of Mana, but that's because I played Secret of Evermore first, and Mana just seemed unfinished in comparision.
-
Played just a bit of Secret of everymore, so cant say, but most ppl despise it while Mana has lots of lovers including me :)
Good things about mana:
-Long and eep storyline
-Great gameworld to explore
-Interesting characters (the protagonist is shallow, but still has some good moments:P)
-The best action battle system for action RPG (you upgrade your weapon, then fight with it til your character master the new level, which gives him a new special attack with it. To use special attacks you hold attack button til the bar fills to the point you want to, the release:P similar to Megaman :P).
-great soundtrack
-Nice graphics
-2 player mode XD
-
Evermore had basically the same battle and level up system as Mana, but it just felt more natural to me. I've also yet to beat Evermore, though, but the sotryline so far was enough to keep me going. Nothing too great and epic, but a fun little story that you wanted to know.
-
Well the intro seemed funny, but I dunno if a funny story may keep me up for long... also, does it have a two player mode?
As for music it didnt catch me at first like Mana did... the graphics are detailed but the character design could be less cartoon and more anime :P
About system, mas play to see if it is same as mana, but hardly better, even compared to the sequals, Secret of mana got the best system :)
-
Man, looking back, I can't really play games like Secret of Evermore and Mana. They just didn't cut it for me. Practically the same time people had the RPG's they loved, like Chrono Trigger and FF6, I had Descent and Privateer, and you all know which one I liked better.
-
I could never do one thing for 11 years, and still find it fun. Unless, of course, like with my NES games, I didn't play it for a long time, then came back to it.
-
Seriously, I only came to enjoy games by 12 when I got Vice Project Doom, and it was just that until my friend introduce me to Megaman 3 and Turtles XD When I came to play Chrono Trigger and FF6 everyone was in the 32 bit era already and I still enjoyed my Snes for 2 years ahead XD
-
Heh, I was stuck in the 16-bit era untill about halfway through the 128 wars.
-
Indeed, I only got playstation after Dreamcast being released XD The joy of Wild Arms and FFTactics, but also the disappointment at FF7 :P
-
I missed PlayStation, and I'll never count myself as being there for n64's time, because although I owned one, the only game I had was Mario Party 3 (The last good one)
-
Missing playstation for me would be a sin, the only console with a better set of games for me is Snes ;) Again note that for me a good set of games is = a LOT of GOOD rpgs :) And on Playstation only looses to Snes in quality, buit keeps up in quantity :P
-
Quality > Quantity
-
I enver got a console until I was 10, and when I had that, I had Descent, so yeah....... I'm WAY more a DOS guy than a console guy. Aslways have been, always will be. No matter what happens, DOS will remain at the top of my list.
-
I think the GameCube made it to top mine, but when the Revolution comes, we'll all see. Or not.
-
Well for DOS I loved Alleycat and digger, but only silly amusement (though I still instist that you all should play Alleycat :P) oh and Defender >D
But only consoles got me hooked though games with background storyline :)
And indeed Quality is better, hence why Snes is still better than PSX for me ;)
-
Hardly for me Lazlo, I am truly disappointed at modern RPGs, and nom-RPGs are just time-killers or friendly amusement for me... the only recent games that I liked and yet not as much as oldies where GBA tittles...
